What I Ate Wednesday - Pregnancy Diet at 18 Weeks

It's weird - last Wednesday I was ravenously hungry and this week it is the complete opposite. I have been getting really, uncomfortably full lately and on meals that I wouldn’t really expect to. Monday I had a ham and cheese bagel with spinach for breakfast and I was good right through till lunch time, or last Thursday I had a breakfast burrito with two eggs and one piece of bacon with a little smear of cream cheese and I was good all morning, I didn't even feel like eating at lunch time but I had Toastmasters and then the doctor's right after so I had to eat or risk getting crazy hungry. So I'm trying to eat less food at a time.

For breakfast I had a cup of coffee with milk and then half a bagel, one half had butter the other half had herb and garlic cream cheese.

I thought the bump looked so cute this morning I had to take a picture!

Then when I got to work I tried this chocolate macaroon coffee that I had been told was amazing, it was ok but I'd already had two cups of coffee by this point and it just wasn't going down well for me. But how awesome is that Spicy Girls mug?

At 9 I was a little hungry at had a little snack of an apple and water.

It was delicious, I've had this apple at work for a week now and just haven't been in the mood for it so it was time it went in my belly. I chased that down a little while later with the other half of my bagel - although I ended up eating the cream cheese half before I remembered to take a photo!

And somewhere before lunch, maybe at 11, I decided it was time to bring one of the two cupcakes I had brought to work. He had had a potluck the day before which I baked this for but they did not all get eaten so that meant I got to bring some home. They are vanilla with cinnamon icing - delicious!

Lunch was Pregnant Joole's pasta - see Sunday's Meal Plan for the recipe. It was a little weird because you had to blend up the sausage and carrot and celery in a blender which gave it a weird consistency but it was good. In the future I think we'll just crumble the sausage and chop up the veggies and maybe not add the fennel.

And for dessert I had my second cupcake.....

Later in the afternoon my stomach started feeling really… gross. Not really sick or anything but just this gross feeling in my stomach, this is how I used to feel a lot in the first trimester although usually worse than I do today. When I feel this way my instinct is just to eat to make it feel better, because sometimes you feel sick because you are hungry. But sometimes you just feel gross and eating does nothing.

I had some Crystal Light Pink Lemonade, which was ok but not really great, then had some Juicy Fruit Gum but all I really wanted was to go buy a bag of chips and munch on them but I wasn't really hungry and I didn’t think it would help and I’ve been eating junkier foods in the last week so I knew I didn't really want them.

Before heading home I was still feeling gross so I decided to slam down a handful of my trusty WildRoots Trailmix from Costco - and it actually helped me feel better!

Dinner was tacos! From the Old El Paso taco dinner kit, I actually ended up have 2 soft shell tacos. They were delicious!

Now I'm chugging water after doing Tracy Anderson's Month 5 of the Pregnancy Project which was really tough on my legs and arms!

Hope you enjoyed this What I Ate Wednesday! What did you eat today?
