What I Ate Wednesday - 17 Weeks

I was up ridiculously early today – 4 am!! Then just couldn’t fall back asleep so after lying in bed for about half an hour I decided to just get up and start my day with youtube and coffee.
I’ve been pretty tired lately and have been having trouble with exercising, and I didn’t do it Saturday, Sunday or Monday, but last night I did a little yoga and after looking through tons of youtube videos decided to do a prenatal barre workout today – only about 15 minutes but I definitely felt the burn!
Had a little snack of hazelnuts there with my coffee before doing the workout.

I was super hungry when I was done and immediately wolfed down a bowl of mini wheats with 2% milk. I don’t like them when they get soggy so I never put too much milk in with them.

Before I left the house I whipped up a quick smoothie with ½ a banana, a handful of spinach, some frozen berries and fruit, a teaspoon of flax and water – I know it doesn’t look like much. I drank about half of it on the way to work and then got out of the car and immediately dropped it on the ground!!

Snacked on some Wildroots Trail Mix to tide me over - almonds, cashews, currants, craisins and yogurt chips.

By 10:00 I was so hungry I just had to eat something (probably because I had already been up for 6 hours by now!), I brought oatmeal for a snack but I was so not interested in oatmeal and decided to have my lunch instead - chicken fajitas! Unfortunately there was only enough left over from dinner for us each to have one. I should have played the pregnant card and taken it all – but I didn’t want to do that to Mark. I LOVE chicken fajitas!! Taco's used to be my jam but I think I'm moving to fajitas - they were just so good.

On the way back to the office from my lunchtime walk I decided to stop and get a chipotle chicken snack wrap and a white chocolate chip cookies from Tim Hortons. I still had a salad for lunch but that was pretty much it for the day and since I was so hungry this morning, I just didn’t want to take the chance that I would get really hungry like that again and I do not want to get so hungry I feel sick. I definitely prefer the days when I can get away with eating breakfast lunch and dinner with one snack in between each.

Then it was salad with romaine lettuce, spinach, feta cheese, walnuts, and craisins with some raspberry vinaigrette dressing for my afternoon snack - yum!! I ate most of it before remembering to snap a photo. Oops!

I was planning on making a pasta carbonara dish with cream cheese sauce for dinner but I was so tired and had a headache when I got home I just needed to lay down on the couch for a while. Mark was sweet enough to whip up this amazing dinner! Bacon, mushrooms, peppers, onions on top of whole wheat spaghetti with a little bit of monterey jack cheese. It was so delicious.

Since I had a cookie at lunch I wasn't planning on having anything sweet tonight but then as I was relaxing in a nice hot bath I started wanting some caramel popcorn (I've totally got the sweet tooth this week), so I whipped up a little batch. Perfect way to end the night!

Hope you all had a great Wednesday! If you are pregnant, do you get ravenously hungry like me? Those days are the worst!
