HEY! I'M COLLEEN
As a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, I believe in taking the time to listen to clients to find out their health concerns and the challenges they face in reaching their goals. I create a supportive environment that will enable you to achieve all of your health goals. I have studied all the major dietary theories and use practical lifestyle coaching methods to guide you in discovering which approach works best for you.
Most approaches to nutrition dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.
No one diet works for everyone. I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals.
I was inspired to become a Health Coach and help others make healthy changes to their lifestyle after I discovered at 29 my cholesterol was a little high. I had always considered myself healthy and finding out that I wasn't as healthy as I thought I decided it was time to make changes in my life. Mainly cut back on alcohol, make time for fitness and movement and eat more veggies.
As I started making changes, I started feel really good, like amazing good and awesome and had so much energy and I wanted to share with other people to help them feel that great too. So I joined IIN and during my time there I learned so much about proper self care, nutrition, I finally learned how to eat in a way that fueled my body and didn't leave me scrambling to count calories or whatever. Finally I could just eat.
For years I had been gaining and losing the same 10 pounds, as soon as I stopped thinking about it the weight would come back. Now the weight just stayed off. I used to have a major sweet tooth and no self control but I learned to change my behavours, so that I just didn't want it or I could just have that one piece and that be it.
I don't have to worry about calories or self control or deprivation. I have to say it's been amazing and eye opening. I've learned to change my eating habits and be different without have to try to be different.
I want everyone to have that freedom around food and lifestyle. My goal is to help you feel vibrant and alive and confident in your body. To teach you how you too can learn to feed your body what it wants and needs so you don't have to constantly be dieting or restricting what you eat.
That is my passion and that is why I do what do.

WHAT IS HEALTH COACHING?
Health Coaches are knowledgeable advisors who provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully and help you to navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to determine what changes are necessary for you. Discussions focus on areas where you desire improvement and creating goals associated with these areas.
Your personalized program will radically improve your health and happiness. Together, we will explore concerns specific to you, your body, lifestyle, preferences and goals to create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” to produce real and lasting results.
