What I Ate Wednesday - 16 Weeks

Welcome to my first ever 'What I Ate Wednesday!' I have been really obsessed with reading about what other pregnant women eat and I thought I would start one of my own. I think I get thrown off a little because before I was pregnant, I would eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I would be good. I knew what to eat to fill me up and keep me full through to the next meal - and now? It's like anything goes. Some days I feel like a ravenous monster and some days I can do just having one snack between meals which I feel is good and more reasonable. Just takes some getting used to I guess.

Started my day with a cup of coffee with some 2% milk and then trained like a Victoria Secret Model, usually I would eat something before working out but it was a pretty short workout and I was not feeling hungry so I must have got a good dinner in last night.

Breakfast - 7 am

Had some Muesli for breakfast. Which is pretty much uncooked oatmeal or granola but not roasted or sweetened. I just made it myself with 1/2 cup of oats, 1 Tbsp unsweetened coconut, 1 Tbsp sunflower seeds, 1 Tbsp walnuts, 1 Tbsp plain yogurt and some milk. I just love muesli, I'm so glad I was watching Anna Saccone's What I Ate Wednesdays when she had muesli and reminded me of how yummy it is. I don't know if you can actually buy it here, but it's so easy to make yourself you don't really need to.

Morning Snack

I was pretty hungry by 10 so I had a piece of toasted rye bread with half an avocado, mustard and a little Monterey Jack cheese. I don't know when I started eating this but it is definitely one of my favourites - and I know baby needs good fats right now so avocado is really good.

But I was still hungry half an hour later! So I grabbed a handful of my Wildroots Premium Trail Mix - this stuff is so good I had my mom pick a bag up for me from Costco.

Lunch

It was so beautiful outside today I decided to go for a 30 minute walk before eating lunch, do I ever enjoy my lunchtime walks. Mmm... lunch was Red Thai Chicken Curry with onion, red pepper, and peas. This was made with a PC brand Red Thai Curry Sauce which was actually pretty good and I think I would buy again. Mark hates Indian curry but luckily for me he loves Thai curry!

I wasn't really hungry during the afternoon but had another small handful of trailmix at about 3 pm to tide me over until dinner.

Dinner

Dinner was chilli with a little bit of old cheddar cheese and a slice of rye bread with butter. It was so delicious! and I just love buttered bread with chilli.

Dessert

After dinner I had a piece of rice krispy cake which I forgot to take a picture of so I just snapped a shot of the pan instead. I love rice krispy cake, I almost cut another piece so I could take a picture but I really didn't need to eat two pieces.

And lots of water, I always drink lots of water but apparently it's really important during pregnancy.
